Social Empowerment
HURIC Uganda’s empowerment initiatives focus on equipping vulnerable communities with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to claim their rights and improve their livelihoods. This includes training, mentorship, and capacity-building efforts that foster resilience, leadership, and active participation in shaping social and economic development.
Projects
- The youth empowerment mentorship programme in Mengo Kisenyi parish for girls in male-dominated occupations
- Since 2023, through our rehabilitation and training programs, we have been unlocking the potential of youth from Kampala’s slum communities and giving them the tools to build brighter futures. So far, 250 young people, comprising 100 girls and 150 boys, have participated in our mentorship initiatives, gaining confidence, guidance, and hope. Right now, 20 of these youth (12 boys and 8 girls) are advancing even further, learning practical, income-generating skills in plumbing and tiling. With continued support, we can expand this opportunity to many more, turning vulnerable young lives into stories of self-reliance, dignity, and community transformation.
