Watch the GAP task group and analytical paper on the Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All

We are happy to share with you our critical civil society perspective on the implementation of the “Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-Being for All”. This is contributory piece and a fulfillment to one of the commitments (come up with paper) that were made by the “Watch The GAP” Task force during the two-day “Kampala Initiative” workshop. The paper directly feeds into the aim of Kampala Initiative of “Challenging, transforming and moving beyond Aid”.

We refer to the “Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-Being for All” (GAP) launched in September 2019, and to our correspondence since December 2019 when we informed you about the launch of “Watch the GAP”, a civil society task group resulting from the workshop on “How to advance cooperation and solidarity within and beyond aid” that took place in Kampala, Uganda on 15-16 November 2019 (launch of the “Kampala Initiative”).

“Watch the GAP” wants to provide a critical civil society perspective on the implementation of the Global Action Plan, its political and practical implications and the commitments by its signatories, without claiming to “represent the voice of civil society”: see www.medicusmundi.org/watch-the-gap/

We are happy to inform you that our team has published the paper, enclosed here. “Watch the GAP! A critical civil society perspective on the development, potential impact and implementation of the ‘Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All’”.
