The Uganda Health Information and Digital Health Strategic Plan 2020/21-2024/25 is a strategic plan that provides the strategic direction and priority interventions for health information management and digitization of the Health Information System (HIS) in the five years 2020/21 to 2024/25.
The plan is fully aligned with the Ministry of Health (MoH) Strategic Plan 2020/21 - 2024/25 and the National Development Plan 2020/21 – 2024/25 (NDP III) and the country’s aspirations expressed in the Uganda National Vision 20401. The strategies herein adhere to the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) principles towards the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 and other global and regional health commitments.
The Uganda Health Information and Digital Health Strategic Plan 2020/21-2024/25 aims to strengthen the health information system in Uganda by providing strategic guidance on how to develop and implement sustainable information and digital health initiatives. The plan is also aimed at supporting the effective use of content in the health information system, such as for predicting adverse health events, for planning health resources required for prevention and treatment of the people of Uganda.
